Welcome to my first post. My name is Woody Haiken. I am an adult survivor of extreme abuse from my father, and chronic peer bullying from not only my childhood, but also well in my first 3 decades. I also am an overcomer. I have transcended the damage, and have learned to embrace every part of my past. I no longer see my self as a survivor–I’m a thriver. The last 11 years of my life have been ones of tremendous growth and healing. Also, during that time, I became a Certified Professional Coach so that I may help others on the same path from victimhood to becoming an inspiration to others.
During my journey, I realized that I was not to blame for what happened to me, so I no longer had to despise myself because others had. I also learned that while I wasn’t to blame for all the bad, I AM responsible for making the most of my life. To do that, I was able to release and forgive. In my coaching practice, I am a guide on the path through very rough and difficult terrain. I walk with my clients–but they do the work.
In this blog, I’m going to share my thoughts, my discoveries and my wisdom. I hope that you enjoy what I write, and leave behind a comment to let me know what you think, whether you agree with me or not.
If anything resonates with you, and you’d like to contact me, I can be found on Facebook. Just send me a message. I’m very good at getting back to people quickly. I look forward to meeting you as you get to know me.
